Surrey Orthodontist holds contestDr. Aly Kanani, a Surrey orthodontist is sponsoring a contest to reward children's good deeds.by Aly Kanani Wednesday, April 13, 2011
The "Do a Good Deed" award invites children to write a short essay describing the good deed they did, why they did it, and what the outcome was. Any child or teenager under 18 is eligible to participate in the contest; the deadline is April 15, 2011. Participants can enter by filling out an enrollment form on Dr. Kanani’s website www.drkananigivesback.com. Any good deed is eligible - whether it was an individual effort or part of a larger group activity. Winners will be notified by email or telephone and will receive an Apple iPad or other prizes. They will also be invited to participate in a special awards ceremony held for family, friends, teachers, community leaders, and other guests of honor. "All adults have a vested interest in promoting high moral values in our young people," notes Kanani, a invisible braces expert. "I think that children can use all the encouragement they can get in making their own choices about right and wrong - and learning to reach their goals without compromising their morals." This is the second iteration of the bi-annual contest; Kanani's Surrey braces practice held a previous version in September 2010. "It was a great success and a lot of fun for everyone," says Kanani, a Surrey orthodontics expert. "We feel good that we can be part of encouraging children and teens to make the right choices in their lives."
