Los Altos, California – May 7, 2011 – One of the most favorite social games in India and rest of South Asia is Antakshari. Antakshari is a karaoke singing competition between two people or two groups of people. For the first time, this game is being brought to the Internet. Now anybody can sing and compete against anyone else in the world whether a friend or a stranger.
This game of Antakshari can be seen at www.Antakshari.TV. It has been launched by a startup in the Indian entertainment space located in Silicon Valley, California.
“Antakshari.TV is a viral and addictive site for lovers of bollywood singing game called Antakshari. We hope to create a very loyal and happy community around this concept, said Sunil Tagare, CEO”
Antakshari.TV is free for the singers as well as the audience.
Antakshari is very easy to play. The system generates an alphabet and the first singer has to start a song beginning with that letter. The singer can sing just a couple of verses and stop or sing the whole song. As soon as he stops singing, the other singer has to start with the letter he stopped at. Over time, the site expects to introduce points, badges and so on.
“Now that Indians have started traveling heavily around the world, it is hard to play Antakshari which requires everyone to be at one place at the same time. With the launch of Antakshari.TV, we hope people get a chance to play with their friends, family or strangers no matter where they are in the world, added Tagare.”
Antakshari.TV is owned by Lean Websites, Inc; a holding company that owns and operates several websites.
