T6 LAUNCHES SOCIAL CAMPAIGN WITH SMARTA.COMThe makers of the T6 water dispenser have teamed up with small business website www.smarta.com to launch an innovative social media campaign.by Adrian Niculescu Friday, December 03, 2010
Smarta editor Matt Thomas, author of The Smarta Way To Do Business, said: “This is an innovative campaign, which engages with the modern business audience on their own terms and recognises their increasing use of social media.” The idea for the #letoffsteam Twitter campaign stems from the perennial office habit of using time spent by the water cooler and kettle to gossip with colleagues. Agneta Sjödin, marketing director for the T6, said: “Brands using social media are seen as fresh, and we have a unique product, in a new category, which is fresh to the UK market.” The T6 is a counter-top appliance for offices that dispenses filtered boiling and chilled water. It is fed directly from the mains so the supply is instant and removes the need for bottled water contracts. The Smarta campaign is part of a L1m integrated marketing push that encompasses Tube, television and print advertising, direct and email marketing, and online and traditional PR. The T6 sits on a counter top and as it is mains fed, there is an instant supply of water, with no need to wait for the kettle to boil or rely on bottled water. It is so called because its makers, Strauss Water, believe it will become the sixth indispensable kitchen appliance. A double carbon block removes odours and tiny particles, and reduces chlorine in order to improve the taste of the water. A UV lamp finishes the purification process and destroys any micro-organisms present in the water supply. The T6 has an LCD screen, sleep and standby modes and comes in 12 different colours to fit any office decor. It is approved under the Water Regulation Advisory Scheme.
