In light of the push for same gender marriage and the recent power shift in the New York State Senate, clergy and pro-family activists are meeting tonight, June 11, at 7:30pm, urging the new Republican leadership and likeminded Democrats to immediately introduce a Defense of Marriage Act. This bill should be modeled after the Federal law or similar state legislation.
“It’s time for defenders of traditional marriage to push back,” declares Rabbi Yehuda Levin, spokesman of the 850 plus Rabbinical Alliance of America. “We are urging the new leadership to defend traditional marriage and absolutely oppose the vote in the Assembly. If not, they are no better than the old leadership and there will be a lot of primaries run in 2010.”

Meeting Info:
Date: Thursday, June 11, 2009
Address: Holy Cross School/Gymnasium
1846 Randall Avenue, Bronx, NY 10473
