2011 – The year of Senior Recruitmentby Rohan Sinha Monday, February 07, 2011
The recent economic depression (2008 and 09) was a challenging period for the Indian head hunting firms. Almost all sectors (mainly IT industry) in the country were struck hard. Many companies posted huge losses and opted to freeze hiring (including C- level jobs). However, the scenario is expected to change this year. The New Year promises a strong renewed demand for executive search services. The recruitment sector began witnessing rise in senior hiring in various sectors, including retail, auto and construction. In addition, energy/natural resources and financial services are emerging as sectors that will create more C- level jobs witness a spike in senior executive hiring in 2011. However, the web is yet to make its presence felt in a significant way in senior level recruitments in the country. In keeping with this demand, new models are emerging that will bridge the gap between senior roles, especially the ones at C-levels and quality profiles. The real potential of online senior hiring will be realized only when these models are implemented and adopted by candidates, employers and the recruiter community at large. <p> Anupriya Karmakar contributes articles on senior recruitment on behalf of www.headhonchos.com. HeadHonchos is India's premier job search service, exclusively for senior management professionals.
