TryCycle Glass – Newest “Eco Product” Hits Market
by Jhames Stewart Tuesday, February 08, 2011
The website will sell post consumer recycled glassware directly to consumers. Products include stemware, tumblers, decanters, bottles, vases, votives, and storage jars. The company believes that environmentally sound purchases shouldn’t come with an added cost, and with this in mind, they aim to keep their prices competitive with those of well-known national “non-green” tabletop retailers.
“When purchasing TryCycle Glass, consumers can be confident in knowing that they are doing their part to protect the environment. Not only are our products made from recycled materials, but also they can be recycled.” says Laura Johnston, TryCycle Glass’s Vice President. “Sustainability is obviously critical to our business model; however, our products are so much more than just eco-friendly: they are beautiful, well-crafted, and strong enough for commercial use. Affordability is another factor central to our mission. When we had the idea to start TryCycle, we were frustrated by the high price tag associated with so many organic and sustainable products. We wanted to be sure that our products were affordable for the general public.”
One characteristic of TryCycle Glass’s products is its color. Consumers will immediately notice that unlike other glassware, TryCycle products have a signature green hue - a result of the recycling process. Popular for years in Europe, recycled glassware has recently become a popular homeware item in the U.S. as the American market continues to become more conscious of the impact their purchases have on a global scale.
TryCycle Glass, based in Wrightsville, Georgia, was founded in 2010. The company specializes in direct to consumer sales of 100% post consumer recycled glass through the website www.trycycleglass.com.
