Brad Fishman Co-Hosts Second Annual Franchise Unconference

PARK CITY, UT – Some of the most influential power players in the franchise industry recently gathered at Newpark Resort in Park City, Utah on March 2-4 for the 2011 Franchise Unconference.

The Franchise Unconference, a by invitation-only event, was created by Brad Fishman of Fishman Public Relations, Dawn Kane of Hot Dish Advertising and Lane Fisher of Fisher Zucker. This year’s event attracted 160 people, including 55 different franchise companies, 120 C-level executives, 12 International Franchise Association Board Members and two past chairs.

“The Unconference is an innovative way for some of the franchise industry’s most influential thinkers to get together in a fun environment to network over ideas and discuss what does and doesn’t work based on their experiences,” said Brad Fishman, CEO of Fishman Public Relations. “Whether it’s hitting the slopes, snowmobiling, shopping or touring the Olympic Training Center, the Unconference allows participants to share best practices about franchises in a fun, somewhat unstructured environment.”

While the Unconference is not a sanctioned IFA event, Brad Fishman said attendees raised a significant amount of money for IFA’s PAC (political action committee), to the tune of more than $25,000.

The first annual Franchise Unconference, also organized by Brad Fishman, Lane Fisher, and Dawn Kane, took place in 2010 as a way to invite franchisors and franchisees to share their expertise of the industry in a relaxed environment.

Brad Fishman is a noted franchising and public relations expert with over 20 years experience in developing successful campaigns for franchise clients. Fishman is known for his informative speaking engagements across the world, and he is involved in a number of industry organizations including Franchise Payments Network and FranFund.
